Alice in Wonderland

2020 - Present

Alice in Wonderland is a framework that I use as a metaphor for more difficult issues that come up in my life. I create collages around Alice's adventures in Wonderland as a stand in for bigger questions that I have and also because I never really know what's going on in general and think of myself as a lost soul in a confusing world.  I have an existential fear of death, not of dying myself, but of losing my loved ones and being left behind. Skulls, hourglasses, clocks, banners with Latin sayings are all over Alice's world, representing human mortality. In Tempus Edax Rerum, an old fashioned telephone takes centre stage, representing the dreaded phone call that will tell us that someone has passed on. The Alice in Wonderland series in ongoing.
